Can teachers round your grade up?
They are not required to do so.
It’s up to them and typically, because they don’t have to, they don’t.
So chances are you’ll end up with a 89.1 in that class.
At my school, if you were just a few points away from a scholarship or acceptance to a program in university, they will round it up for you.
How do you round up grades?
Select the Grade Settings tab at the top of the page. Select a rounding option from the Rounding drop-down menu: To the nearest WHOLE number: This setting rounds the student’s average to the nearest whole number. With this setting, an 89.4% is rounded to 89%, and an 89.5% is rounded to 90%.
How do I ask my teacher for extra credit?
Check your syllabus.
Take the time to read your syllabus. In a high school class, your teacher may tell you about projects you can do for extra credit at the beginning of the school year. Make notes about those projects, and ask your teacher for more information if you feel like she didn’t provide enough details.
Is 89.6 an A or B?
A numeric grade of 89.6 is greater than 89, so it falls outside the range of a “B.” However it is less than 90, so it also falls outside the range of an “A.” This phenomenon is true for the letter-junction for each pair of letter grades.

Is 92.5 an A?
My grade scale would be 90-92.9 = A-, 93 – 96.9 = A, 97 – 100 = A+. Then, a 92.5 technically still falls in the A- category.

Why do we round?
We round numbers because the estimate (rounded number) is used when we can’t find an exact WHOLE number or is used to make a number continuing on forever (0.333333333333333333333333333333333333333333 etc.) a whole number.
Is extra credit optional?
Extra Credit indicates “bonus” items, or optional credit. Note: It is important that you DO NOT make individual items extra credit within an Extra Credit category. Those items will be considered optional within the category and therefore would have no effect on the overall grade outside of the category.
Is extra credit good or bad?
Help students understand that, in most cases, extra credit will not move them up a grade: It won’t salvage a poor performance and should not be used to build artificially high grades; at best, extra credit is borderline insurance.
Why is extra credit good?
Extra Credit should be given at schools, because it’s an opportunity to raise grades. For students who are trying their best but still can’t get past a C, extra credit gives them the opportunity to be able to raise their grade. Extra credit also helps students who have good grades keep those grades up.
